On May 10, 1922 the Belton Chamber of Commerce declared a winner from more than 300 entries in the naming contest for the new theatre in town. The Beltonian was the winning entry.

Although it was built during the Prohibition Era, The Beltonian Theatre now offers a selection of local Texas craft beer and wine.
